Meika Velazquez, RVT
Meika is our practice manager and has been with us since the start of BCVC. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2013 and has been putting her skills to good use ever since! Meika and her husband have 2 sons and a herd of pets. She enjoys camping and pretty much anything to do with the outdoors. Her special interests lie in training and teaching, emergency medicine and canine reproduction.
Voted as Colorado's Technician of the Year for 2024-2025. Jessica Sammons
This Corgi-loving gal helps keep things running smoothly at the front desk. She comes to BCVC with years of experience, so Jessica is a wealth of knowledge and always willing to help make everyone’s day a little bit brighter! When she isn’t working, Jess is loving on her Corgis or her chickens, quilting, or spending quality time with her family.

Hello, I’m Sierra, I was raised in Delta Colorado on my family’s farm. I love spending time training horses and working with my golden retrievers. I have always dreamed of working at a veterinary clinic with animals. I am glad I found a clinic to work with that treats their employees like family.
Connie Childers
Hi, I’m Connie, a Colorado native who grew up in the Ridgway/Montrose area. I am married with two grown boys. I’m an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys fishing, four wheeling, and spending time with my horse. Working at BCVC is a perfect fit for me as I am an animal lover, and working as a receptionist I get to meet them all!

Glenwood Springs and then 13 years in Hawaii before moving back in 2020. My

Hi, I’m Jacelen, and I was born and raised right here in Montrose! I love spending
time with my family and dogs at our cabin in Little Cimarron. I have always dreamed
of working in the veterinary field since I was 5 years old, and I love working with the
animals and people at BCVC!

Hello or Hola! My name is Guadalupe Garcia and I’ve been with the BCVC team for almost 2 years now. As a little girl I worked with animals with my dad not knowing that it would be what would inspire me to get my Associate’s to become a great vet tech. I love hiking, going to the gym, and spending time with my family. I am also bilingual so I’m able to help if there’s ever a language barrier. Come stop by!

Hello, my name is Daniel, and I am a Surgical Assistant here at BCVC. Born In Russia, raised primarily in America, and moved to Colorado back in 2015. I enjoy working here with my colleagues and taking care of our patients. I have a dog named Leia that I love, and she brings me great joy. What brought me to work here was the fact that I would be working with animals and making a difference. I am an empathetic person who gives what I can to make someone smile and always do my best to stay positive. A few activities I enjoy are driving, hiking, hanging with friends, and listening to music.

Hello, I’m Aly! I recently moved to Delta from Colorado Springs, to be closer to my family. I graduated from Western State Colorado University in 2019. I have been in the veterinary field since 2018 and plan to continue learning and chase my dreams of being a veterinarian. In my free time I enjoy adventuring with my two dogs Eden and Enzo!

Hi, I'm Olivia, city gal who took a road trip with her pup in Spring of 2024 and decided to call Montrose her current home. When I'm not at BCVC helping to take care of your fuzzy loved ones, I'm exploring the state, hanging with my own fur baby, or spending time with my family. I'm excited to get to know the community through serving its four-legged residents!
Avery Cota
Hey there! I'm Avery one of the newest members of BCVC. I'm a Texas born and raised cowgirl who started coming to the area in July of 2022 and decided the make it permanent in fall of 2023. In my free time I enjoy riding and training horses as well as spending time with my own wild crew of 2 dogs, 1 cat, 3 horses and my micro mini donkey, Cupid! I enjoy helping with all of our large and small animal patients. I'm thrilled to be able to join this amazing group of people!
